Beta Glucan is a polysaccharide (multiple units of sugar molecules with special side chains). The particular variety that has immune boosting ability is known as 1-3, 1-6 Beta-Glucan, produced by yeast fermentation. Beta Glucan activates macrophages (one type of white blood cells), making them active in destroying bacteria and viruses.
Ling Zhi is a mushroom type of plant. It contains many useful medicinal compounds. One of which is 1-3, 1-6 beta glucan.
